Christina Turner APD - Eating Disorder Dietitian

Thanks for stopping by I’m Christina Turner (she/her)

I’m an Eating Disorders, and Non-Diet Accredited Practising Dietitian residing in Northern NSW Australia.

My journey in the nutrition world has been over 20 years in the making. After stints in research, hospital dietetics, public health and community development, I eventually found my way to launching SOL nutrition, a nutrition clinic in Byron Bay.

Like many others, the non-diet penny dropped for me after a working for a number of years. I could see diets didn’t work for most people, were potentially harmful and not particularly pleasurable!

So just before pulling the pin on dietetics, I went on the hunt for new skills and strategies to support my clients. I ended up completing further training in mindfulness and mindful eating and even launched Australia’s first online mindful eating program.

Fast forward to 2022 I’m now an Assistant Professor in the dietetic program at Bond University on the Gold Coast. I still see clients 1:1 for dietetic advice, but in the spirit of practising what I preach (i.e. managing my good old work/life balance!) – I do this on a much smaller scale these days.

I firmly believe offering dietary advice that is inclusive to EVERYONE and not focused on body weight is absolutely do-able, evidence-based and the most compassionate way to support folks wanting to change their health in some way. After all, we all deserve to enjoy a happy relationship with food and live with ease, right?

How can I help? I have 2 x services I currently offer:

Dietetic Services for Eating Disorders

I’m a Credentialed Eating Disorders Clinician and see clients living with an eating disorder for dietary advice and support.

I currently offer virtual (online) consultations.

Mentoring and Supervision for Dietitians

When I’m not busy teaching or supporting clients in their recovery, the other focus of my work is supporting Dietitians to develop their own weight-inclusive practice skills and private practice management know-how – with a touch of ‘SOL’!   I do this through both individual and group clinical supervision and mentoring.

Whether you are a community member living with an eating disorder, another dietitian looking for supervision and mentoring or a student in one of my classes, my goal is the same – to help you live your life with ease.

Christina Turner has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Nutritionist for over 20 years working both in Australia and the United Kingdom.

She is an Assistant Professor at Bond University and the Founder of SOL nutrition co, a no-diets initiative originating in Byron Bay. Specialising in Eating Disorders, her goal is to help folks live their life with ease, by creating happier relationships with food and their life.

Christina sees both members of the public living with eating disorders and mentors other Australian Dietitians looking to amplify their skills in this area.
