face to face appointments
Many of our SOL Dietitians offer face-to-face dietitian appointments in multiple locations.
Our lovely clinic rooms have been specifically chosen as relaxed, informal but private settings. We want you to feel comfortable to have a chat about your dietary and health concerns.
Live outside our area or can't get out of the house?
Don't worry, we can still help!
* Most of our Dietitians offer a home visit service for those people who are frail or have limited mobility.
* We have also have some fantastic online programs too!
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first appointment will generally take 1 hour with any follow up appointments taking ½ hour.
At your first appointment, your Dietitian will take a detailed history from you finding out what medical conditions you have, any medications or supplements you take and the kinds of foods you eat on an average day. We also like to find out about your overall wellness like how much sleep you get and any difficulties with stress or exercise you may have. Of course, what we'd also love to know is what your health goals are - ie. what would you like to change in your life?
Your Dietitian will then complete a full diet and nutritional assessment and support you to make practical and achievable advice to improve your health and well being.
All advice we offer is client centred. That is, we work with you based on what you want - not tell you what to do and eat!
All consultations are with an Accredited Practising Dietitian. An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) is someone who is university qualified to advise both individuals and groups on nutrition.
“APD is the only national credential recognised by the Australian Government, Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs and most private health funds as the quality standard for nutrition and dietetics services in Australia. It is a recognised trademark protected by law” (Dietitians Association of Australia.
